C’mon, can’t we reuse it just once?

This took me about 38 minutes to post because I was laughing so hard my lungs stopped working a couple of times.
Marianne’s class discovered this fabulous ad for Midcontinent Cable in the paper. Your class gets the grammar WIN of the month, srsly, Marianne!
Are otters like, really common where you guys live? Was this some sort of weird regional psychological slip? Or just pure awesome, maybe.
I think I need a new Apostrophism award—like a ribbon or something—for submissions that make me laugh this hard!
P.S. Ooh I think I figured it out! The typesetter ran out of Fs to use!

My explanation was that they were doing a take on Best in Show, where Harlan Pepper finds out he doesn’t know how to say Fs in ventriloquism.

It’s not some kind of pun?

Becky–I thought it might be, so I checked Midcontinent’s website. I could only find blurbs about “an offer you can’t refuse,” and no otters, just scary cartoon heads.

I thought it was common knowledge that otters are single-use animals. Beavers, on the other hand…

The ad is not a typo, actually. There were some commercials about how you have to get cable so you can watch common movies & shows with famous lines in them and, therefore, repeat them correctly to others. But the newspaper ad didn’t explain that at all.. Also, I WISH we had otters here cuz they’re TOTALLY CUTE!
